Boom™ Cards from Boom™ Learning are digital task cards that can be used for a variety of educational purposes, including speech and language therapy. Students in every grade enjoy using Boom Cards. As an educator, I love these digital task cards for these reasons:
Why I love Boom™ Cards
- Interactive and Engaging: Boom Cards are interactive and engaging for students, making them an excellent tool for keeping their attention and motivation high during therapy sessions
- Customizable: SLPs can customize Boom Cards to fit the individual needs of their clients. We can tailor specific activities, adjust the difficulty level, and create personalized decks to target specific goals
- Immediate Feedback: Boom cards provide immediate feedback to both SLPs and clients, making it easy to monitor progress and adjust therapy activities as needed
- Versatile: Boom Cards can be used in a variety of settings, including teletherapy and in-person therapy, making them versatile and handy when differentiating instruction
- Cost-Effective: Boom Cards are a cost-effective alternative to traditional therapy materials. SLPs can purchase decks at a reasonable price and use them repeatedly with multiple students.
- Useful Data: The Boom Learning website collects data that is useful to educators. In a report, educators can see the incorrect cards and how long it took the student to complete the cards.
Boom Learning was launched by Eric and Mary Oemig in 2012 and is based in Kirkland, Washington. The company specializes in creating educational resources and interactive digital activities for teachers, students, and homeschooling parents. Boom Cards are used by educators all over the world.
How to get an account on Boom™ Learning
To get an account on Boom Learning, you can follow these steps:
- Go to the Boom Learning website and click on the “Sign Up” button located in the upper right-hand corner of the page https://wow.boomlearning.com/
- You will be directed to the sign-up page. Choose the type of account you want to create, either as a teacher, student, or parent and fill out the required information.
- Once you have filled out the necessary information, click on the “Create Account” button at the bottom of the page.
- You will receive an email with a link to verify your account. Click on the link to confirm your account
- After confirming your account, you can log in and start exploring the Boom Learning platform
Boom Learning offers both free and paid accounts. Paid accounts offer additional features and benefits, such as access to more content and the ability to create and sell your own content.

What types of Devices can use Boom™ Cards
Boom cards will work on these devices:
- Desktop and laptop computers: Boom Cards can be played on any desktop or laptop computer that has a modern web browser, such as Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari
- Tablets: Boom Cards are also compatible with tablets, such as iPads and Android tablets. To play Boom Cards on a tabloid, you’ll need to download the Boom Cards app from the App Store of Google Play.
- Smartphones: You can also play Boom Cards on your smartphone. Just like tablets, you’ll need to download the Boom Cards app
- Interactive Whiteboards: Boom Cards can be played on interactive whiteboards such as SMART Boards and Promethean Boards
- Chromebooks: Boom Cards are also compatible with Chromebooks
Overall, as long as you have a device that can access the internet and a modern web browser or the Boom Card app, you should be able to use Boom Cards.
